Another Great Wine Tasting- Join Sister Cities Yorktown on July 14 (Bastille Day) for a wine tasting with Bridget Goeke from WineBow wine distributors.  That event will be at the Hornsby House Inn at 6PM.  You will taste 5 different wines paired with foods that complement the wines.  All the wines will be from the Languedoc – Roussillon Region near our sister city in Port-Vendres. This event is sure to be a sellout.  To sign up to attend go to https://www.eventbrite.com/e/bastille-day-celebration-and-wine-tasting-tickets-348858213307?utm-campaign=social%2Cemail&utm-content=attendeeshare&utm-medium=discovery&utm-source=strongmail&utm-term=listing.  You can also just go to Eventbrite and search Sister Cities Yorktown.

Save the Date  – On August 25, Sister Cities Yorktown will be having a free breakfast event at Riverwalk Restaurant in Yorktown at 9 AM.   Brigadier General John Kline, Commanding General from Joint Base Langley – Eustis will be speaking on “The Value of International Relationships.”  This is event is sure to be a popular event and registration is limited.  If you are interested in attending email us at contact@sistercitiesyorktown.org.

French Market Success – The annual Sister Cities French Market was held on April 16 in conjunction with the Yorktown Farmers Market.  At this event we try to replicate the Saturday Market in Port Vendres, France.  There were booths for a silent auction with many great items, a wine garden with French Wines, a student booth, and the ever-popular marche aux puces (flea market).  If you missed us join us next year on April 15, 2023.

Soiree en Blanc- This year’s Soiree en Blanc will be held on October 5, 2022.  This is an event that is held in Paris each year and other locations around the world.  Everyone dresses in white and brings a meal.  The location is not released until the week before, but we can say it will be in the greater Yorktown area.  More information on that event will be releases as we get closer to the event.

Help Wanted – Sister Cities Yorktown is the primary non-profit for the Yorktown Wine Festival on October 1.  We will received a portion of the proceeds based on the number of volunteers we bring to the event.  More information will come out as we get closer but if you have a few hours to help out send us an email at contact@sistercitiesyorktown.org.
